Over 20 employees found absent

KISHTWAR, Sept 1: In order to monitor the attendance of government teachers in Schools, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Rajesh Kumar Shavan today paid a surprise visit to various Schools/Offices in Chatroo Tehsil of Kishtwar district and found over 20 employees, mostly education staff absent from duties.
The Schools inspected by Shavan during his visit included Government Higher Secondary School Mughal Maidan, Government Middle School Deller, Government Middle School Dumber and Government Middle School Brijbag.
As soon as the news of raid of Assistant Commissioner Revenue's in schools spread among the local inhabitants, the teachers and government employees started rushing to schools/offices, however, till the teachers arrived at the place of posting, the Attendance Register of many schools was already seized by the Assistant Commissioner, Revenue.
In Higher Secondary School, Mughal Maidan, it was found that even on August 31, seven blank spaces on the Attendance Register were kept without marking either absent or leave by the Principal.
On this, the Assistant Commissioner Revenue asked the concerned Principal to explain his position on this account.
In HSS Mughal Maidan out of 26 employees only 4-5 employees reported at 10.10 am at the time when ACR Kishtwar entered the school premises and ten more reached after 10.30 am, while the timing of the school was fixed at 10 am by the state government.
Among the absentees in Higher Secondary School, Mughal Maidan including Badar-un-Nisa (Lecturer), Nazish Sanam (Lecturer on contractual basis), Mohammad Irfan Qazi (Master), Ghulam Mohammad Khan, Ranjeet Kumar Lab Assistants and Mohammad Abdullah Lab Assistant, the Principal reported that they are on leave. However, an enquiry has ordered to verify the facts.
In M/S Deller, Altaf Hussain Sheikh (Master) was found absent. In yet another complaint of the public attendance of Govt. Girls Primary School Janwas was got checked through Revenue agency and it was found that School was totally closed and the public complained that this School has remained closed for the last six months but the three teachers posted their namely Vijay Rathore 3rd teacher,Vijay Lakhshmi and Imtiaz Rafiqi General Line teachers are drawing salaries and Mid day Meal regularly . CEO Kishtwar has been informed about the mass scale absentees in Chatroo area.
The other offices checked included CDPO and Sheep Husbandry Officer Chatroo where routine working and presence was found satisfactory.
