Sham stresses on universalizing modern medicare | | | early times report JAMMU, Sept 1: Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Sham Lal Sharma today said that several reformative steps are being brought in the healthcare system to further improve the medicare across the state. This was stated by the Minister while addressing a felicitation function organized by the Directorate of Health Services, Jammu, at Government Gandhinagar, Hospital, Jammu held to honour the re-designated doctors and surgeons. The A-grade doctors will now be senior consultants while the B-grade as consultants and Assistant Surgeons as medical officers. Addressing the function, Mr Sham appreciated the efforts of health department for contributing vigorously in improving the healthcare services. He appealed the doctors and para-medics to put in their best efforts to maintain and uphold the dignity of this noble profession. Describing health and medical as the core sectors, Mr Sham said the government was making all out efforts to improve the delivery of these vital services in the rural and far-flung areas. He said as a step forward to encourage the doctors and para-medical staff to serve in the rural and remote areas the government has made substantial increase in the existing incentive structure. He said our state is the only state of the country which provides 92% healthcare facilities in public sector. Among others Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr Madhu Khullar, Medical Superintendent Gandhinagar Hospital, Dr Romesh, Medical Superintendent Sarwal Hospital, Dr Arun Sharma, Senior doctors from various district and sub district hospitals of Jammu division were present on the occasion. |
