JAMMU, Sept 1: Jammu district emerged winner in girls section while boys' title went to district Udhampur in the divisional level inter-district under-19 badminton tournament, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
In the girls' final, Jammu defeated their counterparts from district Udhampur 2-0. In singles, Suvidha defeated Shriya in straight easy sets of 21-09, 21-10. Later, the pair of Suvidha and Sonali registered a 2-0 (21-06, 21-04) win over Ulfat and Pragiti.
Earlier, in under-19 boys final, district Reasi suffered a 0-2 defeat in the hands of district Udhampur. In the singles game, Narinder lost to Vikram 09-21, 06-21 while the duo of Manhar and Aditya suffered 12-21, 10-21 defeat in the hands of Pankaj and Shivam pair. |
