Lakhpatrrai gets BSP ticket for Kathua Lok Sabha constituency | Ram to seek election for LC seat | | Early Times Report Kathua, Sept 2 : BSP has nominated its candidate for Kathua-Udhampur Lok Sabha seat and MLC seat for JK assembly in a public programme organized by the BSP state unit here today. On the occasion the BSP national secretary and Member Parliament Narinder Kashyap openly criticized and flayed the state coalition Govt led by Omar Abdullah for dopting anti scheduled castes, schedule tribe and OBC policies. "Inspite of 65 years of independence, the schedule caste and OBCs are still living as slaves and in pathetic conditions. All the union and state governments have failed to address the problems of downtrodden people of the country", he said. He said that the state government could not bring the 27% reservation quota identified by Mandal Commission for OBC till date and for which they have been harassed. He stated that State Government is providing them with only 2 percent reservation instead of 27%. "The coalition Government ruling the State has deceived them a number of times and provided them with nothing except false assurances", he accused. He also criticized the Jammu based leadership which is totally playing in the hands of their Kashmiri masters. He said the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions have always been making complaints and resorting to protests over regional discrimination. "Jammu and Kashmir regions should be given separate status of states and Ladakh be made a Union Territory to ensure equitable development and economic activity in the three regions," he said. He regretted that west Pakistani refugees are still clamoring for their citizenship rights. He pointed out that Kashmiri leadership and also Central Government are sleeping over this extremely serious issue. He also urged the people to come forward with an open heart and mind in favour of their honest candidate Rtd. DC Lakhpatrai for forthcoming parliamentary election whose candidature has been cleared by supremo BSP Behan Mayawati ji for Kathua-Udhampur MP constituency. Rtd Forester Sh. Ram Chander as been nominated by BSP for forthcoming MLC seat in Jammu and Kashmir assembly. He asserted that party needs a leader who can unite all the members of the party by making an effective and result oriented coordination in order to pursue the policies and programmes of the BSP at grass root level. |
