| Politician-Contractor mafia clogging development in Ramnagar: Pathania | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Sept 2: Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) General Secretary RS Pathania has accused politician-contractor mafia of stalling and clogging wheels of development in Ramnagar assembly segment.
He accused local MLA for pressurizing various agencies and their heads to divert the funds in order to please his "blue-eyed" contractors.
Pathania said that he has a long list of works which have been started without any administrative approval In many cases payments were made in advance and the works remain unfinished for years," he added.
He said that virtual 'loot - khasoot' is prevailing in Ramnagar whereby public funds are being squandered at will. Constituency Development Fund of local MLA is being utilized in Ramnagar in violation of set norms and set codal formalities. Whereas funds under the head, 'non-plan' and 'additionalities' are being gobbled up by blue-eyed favourites.
He alleged favouritism and nepotism in execution of centrally sponsored schemes too in Ramnagar.
In light of recent revelations of CAG Report, Pathania has charged that implementation of centrally-sponsored schemes like PMGSY, UIDSSMT, RGGVY, MGNREGA, IHSDP, IAY, SSA, NRHM, NABARD and ADB-funded projects, IWDP, etc. in Ramnagar has been fraught with worst interpolations and deviations.
Pathania has sought a CBI probe in the working of I.W.D.P. whereby more than fifty crores of rupees have been pumped in this project in Ramnagar but nothing tangible appears on ground. |
