Two pronged strategy to deal wild animal attacks: Karra

Minister for Finance, Mr. Tariq Hameed Karra today informed Legislative Assembly that to deal man-animal conflicts in the state a two pronged strategy has been formulated.
Replying the issue raised by Mr. Abdul Rehman Veeri regarding killing of five persons by wild animals in Anantnag district, Mr. Karra said that under a long term policy complete fencing of all wild life sanctuaries would be done. He said that for the purpose a proposal has been submitted to the central government for approval. He said that under short term strategy necessary intoxicating equipment is being provided to the Wildlife Department to restrain the wild animals from venturing into habitations.
Replying another issue raised by Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia, Mr. Faqir Nath, Mr. Yashpaul Kundal, Mr. Harshdev Singh, Mr. Jugal Kishore, Mr. Ashwani Sharma, Mr. Sharief-ud-Din Shariq, Mr. Yogesh Sawhney and Mr. Mohammad Sayeed Akhoon regarding regularization of Sales Tax employees, the Finance Minister said that he will give a statement in this regard in the House tomorrow.
Replying a point raised by Dr. Manohar Lal, Minister for Tourism and PHE Mr. Dilawar Mir said that he will look into the matter of developing Mata Sukrala Devi as pilgrims tourist spot.
Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma while replying a point raised by Mrs. Suman Bhagat said that matter regarding reservation to the SC/ST and OBC is being reviewed. The Minister also replying a point raised by Moulvi Abdul Rashid regarding killing of one deaf and dumb youth in Banihal Constituency, said that he will submit factual report in the House.
While replying a point raised by Mian Altaf, Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma said that he will also inform the House regarding treatment of deaf and dumb basti in a tribal area of Doda district.
Mr. M. Y. Tarigami raised the point of engagement of local labourers in industrial units and under execution projects and demanded for constitution of an autonomous body for protection of rights of local labourers. While Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar expressed concern over attacks on Syed Ali Shah Geelani in Jammu.
Dr. Mehboob Baig demanded conferring of allotment of plots to the allottees of Fatehgarh Housing Colony at Anantnag and Mrs. Shanti Devi demanded implementation of decision regarding transfer of construction and development work of lanes and drains to Municipal Corporation Jammu.
Mr. Sartaj Madni raised the issue of missing of a teacher namely Irshad Ahmed of Kanthbagh, Baramulla whileas Mrs. Kanta Andotra demanded upgradation of ponds in rural areas of Kathua district and Mrs. Khem Lata Wakhloo demanded settlement of pending cases of Kashmiri migrants under SRO-43.
Mr. Yashpaul Kundal drew the attention of government towards draught like situation in Kandi areas and demanded initiating of necessary measures while Dr. Chaman Lal demanded compensation to the shopkeepers of Miran Sahib whose property is coming under widening of roads.
