| KPs protest in Jammu, demand relief | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 3 : Demanding relief and basic amenities, hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits today demonstrated at first Satellite Township at Jagti in Nagrota area of city outskirts in this winter capital. Raising slogans against the government, the community members this morning protested at Jagti Township and sought relief announced by the government besides better basic amenities in the locality. The protestors alleged that the government has failed in providing sufficient relief to the displaced Kashmiri Hindus, who were forced to leave their homeland after militancy gripped Kashmir. They staged a sit-in and also tried to proceed towards the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway to lodge their protest but heavy deployment of police restricted them. Relief Commissioner Jammu, on receiving the information, rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the protestors. |
