| Police works out attempt to murder case, one held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 3: Ramban Police claimed to have worked out the case of attempt to murder on a sarpanch within the eight hours of its occurrence with the arrest of the main accused allegedly involved in the heinous crime.
Reports said during the intervening night of 2/3, IC PP Khari received an information that an unknown person attacked on the sarpanch of panchayat halqa Upper Khari-B namely Abdul Majid Chopan S/O Abdul Ghani Chopan R/O Tragan Khari with a sharp edge weapon with the intention to kill him. "On receiving this information a case FIR No.149/2012, U/S 307/RPS stand registered at Police Station Banihal and immediately a Police rushed on spot and shifted the injured sarpanch to Critical Care Hospital Banihal for medical treatment, police said.
Police said that the police team cordoned the area and started search of the accused. During preliminary questioning one Abdul Gaffar S/O Abdul Ahad Chopan neighbour of Sarpanch was not found in his residential house on this the police questioned his family member regarding his whereabouts but they failed to respond the quires and suspecting foul play IC PP launched a manhunt for the search of above named suspect. Later he was finally arrested from Sarachi Top Khari who on sustained interrogation confessed his involvement in the commission of crime and subsequently the weapon of offence was also recovered on his disclosure. |
