Azad's scheduled visit sparks off political speculations | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 3: Former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's scheduled visit to the State latter his month has sparked off political speculations, especially after former Minister GM Saroori was not named in a challan presented by Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) to the court in impersonation case in medical test. Azad is likely to arrive on Sept 17 and will hold meeting with party leader and is schedule to address public rallies. He is also scheduled to visit Srinagar, where he is likely to hold meeting with the Chief Minister. The visit has sparked off speculation and race among Azad loyalist for a berth in the Cabinet. Saroori who is hopeful of making it back to the Ministry is likely to meet Azad in Jammu and both are likely to address rally in Inderwal at district Kishtwar, in an attempt to give important political signal that MLA would be back in the Cabinet. The Congress which had near clean sweep in the Doda district in the last Assembly elections doesn't have any Cabinet Minister from there. Any further delay is only fuelling the concern that it may prove costly in the next Assembly elections, given the political fluid situation. Azad still holds sway over State politics and is still considered one of the important political figures on the lines of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Dr Farooq Abdullah. |
