JK Sikh Council resents extension to retired Custodian | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 4: A meeting of J&K Sikh Council Jammu was held under the presidentship of its President Harmohinder Singh. In the meeting, the members expressed resentment over the alleged moves of the government to grant extension of one year to former Custodian, Jammu Abdul Majid Wani, who attained the age of superannuation on August 31. Wani remained Custodian Jammu for more than eight years, they added. The members alleged that Wani was well known for his anti-refugees mindset adding he was in nexus with his higher ups in Revenue Department. The meeting said that the Council came to know that Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has recommended extension in Wani’s services for the period of one year. J&K Sikh Council warns the state government that if any extension will be accorded in favour of Wani on the recommendation of Raman Bhalla, a stir will be launched to oppose the move. |
