| Cop roughed up by lawyers for alleged harassing of female lawyer | | | Saahil Suhail
Anantnag, Sept 4 : Policeman was today ruthlessly beaten by a group of Lawyers in court premises when he was allegedly harassing a female Lawyer in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
“Injured Cop identified as Kaser Ahmad Dar resident of Seer Mattan was later shifted to District Hospital Anantnag, eye witnesses said. After the incident took place, Anantnag police has initiated action against the lawyers including south Kashmir’s top criminal lawyer, Muneer Ahmad Shaal, have allegedly roughed up policeman. An FIR bearing no 277/2012 u/s 141, 342, 392, 364, 452 has been registered against the Lawyers including Criminal Lawyer Muneer Ahmad Shaal, police sources confirmed. However police failed to arrest the accused as lawyers got anticipatory bail from the Anantnag court.
Meanwhile Muneer Ahmad Shaal said that said cop was harassing a female advocate from past two months, accordingly a complaint was lodged against the cop in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Anantnag and was also communicated to the SSP Anantnag.” Muneer Ahmad Shaal claimed, adding that CJM himself called the policeman into the court but he didn’t obey the orders of CJM by saying that he can’t enter the court without the permission of Dy SP Hqrs.
Further adding he said however CJM send his own PSO, who later brought the Cop in the court premises but he again ran away from the court premises as ill luck he would have some locals caught him outside the court beat him taking him as a burglar.
“We had presented him in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate where his statement was recorded,” Muneer said, adding that cop was not injured while the statement was being recorded.
He however said, “SSP Anantnag has some personal scores to settle with me and thus he had hatched a conspiracy against me.” Meanwhile SSP Anantnag rejected Muneer’s claims and said, “I have no personal rivalries with the lawyer, they have publicly beaten my policeman and we have followed the rule of law.” “FIR has been registered against the four lawyers and investigation has been initiated as per law, he said.
When asked about the claims of Advocate Muneer Ahmad Shaal that a complaint was lodged in the court of CJM and same was communicated to SSP , SSP Anantnag denied and said he was never informed about this. |
