| Selection of District & Sessions Judge Challenged | | SC issues notice interim directions | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 4 (JNF) : Today in a writ petition filed by Zubair Ahmed Mir and Ors challenging the selection of District & Sessions Judges recently made by J&K High Court, a Bench of the Supreme Court comprising Justice Aftab Alam and Justice Ranjana Parkash Desai after hearing Senior Advocates Soli J. Sorabji and P.P. Rao assisted by Advocates Harshivir Pratap Singh, B.P. Gupta and Naresh Kumar issued notice to the respondents and observed that in the course of submission Advocate Soli J. Sorabji submitted an additional affidavit, Which was taken on record.
The Apex Court also allowed Dasti Service looking into urgency involved. After considering the matter the Apex Court directed that During the pendency of the writ petition, any appointment including those made pursuant to deviation of quota, if any, shall be subject to the final result of this case. Supreme Court further directed its Registry to place this matter after completion of Service. |
