| Govt committed to bring facts to fore Killing of Nowpora youth to be investigated by special team | | | Jammu, February 07 Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Taj Mohi-ud-Din said that government is keen to bring the facts about all innocent killings to fore as per the commitment made by Chief Minister on the floor of the House. Minister was giving a statement in LA today about the killing of a youth Yaqoob Ahmed Mir raised by Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar in the other day. Minister said that the investigation is being conducted in the killing of the Youth on day to day basis adding that the case of Mir is being investigated by the special team headed by Deputy Inspector General of Police Kashmir which is inquiring into other such cases including That of Abdul Rehman Paddar. Giving details of the case, he said a missing report was lodged at police state Miasuma about the missing of Mohammad Yaqoob Mir on January 22 2007. He said during the investigation taken up by police it was established that the missing was called by some unidentified person on 21 January and was not seen after that. He said however, his body was received from police station Pattan to which it was handed over by 52 RR. He said that it was alleged that the youth was killed in an encounter at village Kralpora Pattan. Giving further details, Minister said that, as per circumstances of the case, it was apparent that some person, persons had abducted Mir from his work place with the intention of murder, whose dead body, after postmortem, was received by his family and buried. On this a case, FIR no 6/2007u/s 364/302 RPC was registered at police station Miausuma and Investigation was taken up, minister said adding that, however, during the investigation it was revealed that that the deceased had been arrested previously as he was a PTM of HUJI outfit and two cases stand registered against him, one at P/s Soura under FIR no1000/2003u/s7/25Indian Arms Act and another at P/S Sherghari under FIR No. 49/2004 U/s 7/25 Indian Arms Act. . He said the Investigating officer is presently collecting various details with regard to circumstances that led to his arrest and release and the identification of the person with whom the deceased used to frequent so as to establish the identification of the person or the persons who could have been instrumental in facilitating his abduction and subsequent killing, Minister said. A special team, he said is investigating the case on daily basis. About the complaint of Member about the arrest of the father of Mir, Minister said that, he was taken to police Control Room by Police to identify the body of one Zahoor Ahmed alias Jan Molvi, who hailed from the same area. After the needful was done, his father was dropped at his home. He further said that at no stage was arrested by the police. About the brother in law of the deceased Bashir Ahmed Mir was called in police station, Maisuma, because he was the person who had last seen the missing person (Yaqoob Mir).
