Rural infrastructure getting focused attention of govt: DyCM | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 4 : The coalition government is upgrading rural infrastructure and undertaking development initiatives to address aspirations of people living in far-off and hilly terrains, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand has said. "The government is giving focused attention to upgrade rural infrastructure and exemplary development initiatives have been taken to address the aspirations of those living in far-off and hilly terrains," he said during series of public meetings in border belts in Akhnoor area of Jammu. Chand said with the help of liberal funding and active backing by the Centre, major development initiatives have been taken and the state government has launched mega projects for all-round development of all three regions of the state. The deputy chief minister said Benefits under Actual Line of Control (ALC) category, clustered model village projects, special package for border migrants and colony at Naiwala are among specific initiatives which have been taken to address the requirements of people living in border areas. "The block is on the top as per the development and connectivity index and no stone would be kept unturned to address the area specific demands of the people living in border and inaccessible belts of the state," he said. |
