| Police seizes timber in Uri, Khansahib | | | Srinagar, February 07 While as Uri Police recovered illicit timber from a Tata Mobile and arrested a smuggler, Police Khansahib has also seized a timber laden horse from Raiyar village in Budgam. Acting on specific information, Uri Police led by SHO Shamas Din Parray intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing Regt No: JK01K/1519 and recovered illicit timber worth thousands from it. Driver of the said vehicle namely Nazir Hussain Qureshi s/o Aashim Ali Qureshi R/O Bandi Uri was taken into custody. Case has been registered in this regard and investigations taken up. In an another incident, Khansahib Police seized one horse alongwith illicit timber near Village Raiyar in Budgam. However Timber smuggler identified as Abdul Aziz fled from the spot. Case has been registered and hunt for the timber smuggler is on. Fire Incidents: Fire broke out in the residential house of Ali Mohammed Chopan s/o Sabir R/O Panzgam Kupwara, under the jurisdiction of PP Kralapora, causing partial damage to the cowshed located in the Ground floor of the house. Two cows also died in the incident. Cause of fire is being ascertained. In an accidental fire, house of Amma Padder s/o Ghulam Rasool R/O Umah Anantnag under the jurisdiction of P/S Dooru was partially damaged. Due to defective Kerosene Oil Heater, fire broke out in the J.L.N.M Hospital at Rainawari which was brought under control. No loss of life or injury to anyone was caused in the incident.
