Search operation in Nowshera after militants movement noticed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Rajouri/Jammu, Sept 4: Panic gripped in government high school Manpur in Nowshera area of border district Rajouri on Tuesday morning when some suspected militants were noticed besides a natural spring (water source) by some students. The security forces have launched a search operation in the target area. As per reports some students who had gone to fetch water from natural spring saw an unidentified armed militant and reported the matter to their teachers who later reported the matter to local police. "Police acting swiftly reached the spot and took up the matter to the top commanaders of army deployment in the area, sources said adding, "soon a joint search operation was launched in the target area. "The troops of 80 Brigade and 11 Sikh Li in coordination with local police after cordoning the area conducted searches till late evening, sources said and added that the day long searches turned to be futile. "It is assumed that the suspects might have escaped taking advantage of the full grown maize crops to huge heights, they added. Sources added that the search operation which was formally called off at around 6.30pm this evening is likely to be continued Wednesday morning as some troops reportedly have camped in the target area. |
