FIR against two businessmen entrepreneurs for 'land grabbing' | MLA Reasi under scanner for his alleged role | | SUMIT SHARMA Jammu, Sept 4: Reasi Police today has booked two leading businessmen of Jammu for their involvement in alleged grabbing of a land spread of 44 kanal situated in Kuntrodian Katra here today. Meanwhile, police is also investigating the role of MLA Katra Baldev Raj in the land grabbing scam. Police sources said, "The action was taken following the directions from the Court." The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Reasi order came against two leading businessmen following the complaint lodged by one Shankutla Devi d/o Sukhram of village Kuntrodian alleging that one Subash Chander son of Pitamber Dass of Katra and Vachaspati Khajuria son of Ludharmani of Panthel, Udhampur managed registry of her land on fictitious power of attorney. The complainant in her complaint further had alleged that they managed the registry by misrepresenting in the office of the Sub Registrar City, Jammu in the year 1999 by producing some unknown woman impersonating as Shakuntala Devi. "Based on the fake power of attorneys the accused also managed some sale deeds and got them registered in Reasi Courts in favour of various persons including MLA Reasi. Meanwhile, a senior police officer when contacted said that a case FIR NO 95/2012 under section 416,419,465,466,467,468,471,120B,82 J&K Registration Act stands registered against two persons identified in the complaint namely Subash Chander and Vachaspati. He further said that role of MLA in this connection is being investigated. However, sources further said that both the alleged accused got interim bail by session judge Reasi upto 5.9.2012. Sources further claimed that besides this, certain other allegations have been leveled against MLA Baldev Raj which including construction of 1200 sq feet building, though Katra Municipal Corporation passed the map of 400sq feet. Shakuntala Devi also had sought Chief Minister's intervention to hold probe into the matter of land grabbing allegations.
