| Avalanche kills an Australian in Gulmarg | | | Srinagar, February 07
An Australian has been killed in an avalanche, when he was skiing down from the slopes of Apherwat in Gulmarg today.
Identified as Shaun Gregory Anton, 31, with Passport No: 18062822, the deceased was a resident of Melbourne Australia and had come to Gulmarg for Skiing with his friends.
Early in the morning today, the deceased had left for Apharwat alongwith a group of Skiers and was the first one to come down from the slope, when a snow avalanche occurred.
The avalanche swept him down for 2 Kms and buried him under a pile of snow for about 45 minutes before a rescue team dug him up.
