It is a week long Assembly session…..! | | | early times report Jammu, Sept 4: It is official now. The autumn session of Assembly which is scheduled to begin from October 1 in Srinagar will last for not more than a week' s time. Though the calendar shows session concluding on October 10, it has only 7 working days, each day with specific proceedings that have been divided as per the overall business to be taken up during the short duration session. The brief session of Legislature, which is actually a mandatory requirement to be summoned after every six months has part from routine question hour several important bills and resolutions in the business. Each member of the House has been asked to give 10 questions in all, five starred and five unstarred and the last date of submission of these questions to the Assembly Secretariat is September 10. According the provisional calendar while a maximum of around five days have been earmarked for government business, one day each has been earmarked for private members resolutions and private members bills. The resolutions and bills, shall however be restricted to not more than 7, after routine draw of lots, as per the priority decided by the members alone. During the session while a few new bills , some of them amendment bills are in the calendar, there are some old bills, pending for some formalities that would be taken up during the government business. As for the private members bills, only two have been permitted from each member for this session, the number of days being less for discussion and deliberations. The provisional calendar shows business only up to October 9 whereas on the last day, which is October 10, government business , if any would be taken up by the House.
