| Samba residents protest against PHE Deptt | | | Early Times Report
Samba, Sept 6: Locals in Samba staged protest against PHE Department here which is mulling to start functioning of Filtration plant near Chichi Mata temple. Amid sloganeering against those who raised the issue of activation of filtration plant again near Chichi Mata Mandir Samba. Protestors said that said plant was shut down after the locals staged protest when some buffalos died by drinking the toxic water of river Basanter which was the main source to the filtration plant. Naresh Amba (Ex-vice president Municipal Council Samba) said that Central Government sanctioned tube wells under UIDSSMT scheme and instead of digging tube wells some elements are trying to supply the toxic water to the people of Samba. Kusum Khajuria Distt President Press Chamber of India warned the administration if the filtration plant’s restoration will not be tolerated as the plant is fed by the Basantar whose water is being contaminated by chemical discharge of industries in Samba. Prithvi Singh, Ashok Kumar, KC Pathania, Simran Singh, Pankaj Mansotra, Satpal Singh, Akash Mahajan, Vishav Pratap, Pankaj Sharma, Pratap Kumar, Shiv Karan Singh and others participated in this protest |
