| Opposition lodges corruption charges on officer, Minister says action will be taken | | | Jammu, Feb 7
Minister of State for Higher Education and Forest Aijaz Ahmad Khan in reply to a question by Sofi Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din said that Project Officer Chenab Basin was attached with Conservator of Forests, Chenab Circle vide Government Order No. 381-FST of 2005 dated September 23, 2005 for alleged financial indiscipline. An inquiry committee was constituted to inquire into the whole gamut of execution of works in the jurisdiction of Project officer, Chenab Basin-I. The said inquiry committee has submitted its report on December 22, 2005.
He said inquiry report did not substantiate the allegation leveled against the officer and he was restored as Project Officer, Chenab Basin-I.
He said State Vigilance Organization has also asked for the case file alongwith relevant records pertaining to the attachment of Project Officer, Chenab Basin-I, Doda and the same has been provided to them. However, their report/recommendation is awaited. However, he assured the member that the case would be examined a fresh.
