| Ascertain whether Red Cross has received Rs 25 lakh, HC directs counsel | | Non-Functional Attendant Sarai | | | Jammu, Sept 6 (JNF) : In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Viklang Chatra Trust regarding non-functional of Sarai for attendants of Patients of Govt Medical College Jammu, a Division Bench of State High Court comprising First Puisne Judge Justice Virender Singh and Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar after hearing Advocate Sunil Sethi with Advocate Sumit Singh whereas Deputy AG Neeru Goswami of Health Dept, observed that through instant application, state wants to place on record a communication dated August 30, 2012 addressed by Joint Director (P&S) Health & Medical Education Dept to Principal Govt Medical College Jammu with regard to release of Rs 25 lakh as one time grant in aid to Regional Red Cross Society Jammu for the upkeep of Attendant’s Sarai.The court allowed the petition and urged the Advocate Siddiqui to confirm as to whether the aforesaid amount has been received by the Regional Red-Cross Society Jammu.The court further directed Advocate HA Siddiqui to apprise the court on the next date of hearing with regard to the compliance of each point taken in minutes of meeting held on May 24, 2012 and directed the Registry to list this PIL on September 18, 2012.
