Jammu university Law Students Association (JULSA) started a signature campaign against the director through which they showed their serious and lawfull approach towards their demands. Around 150 students signed in the signature campaign and presented their support . The students alleged that Kulwant Singh with the help of authorities is sending some miscreants to suppress the movement . He is trying to disunite the students by tempting them with some academic benefits and also aiming at creating rivalry amongst them. JULSA is saying that rumors are being created by the Law school administration that all the students participating in the agitation are having shortage in their class lectures and they are doing all this to evade from the consequences but the fact is that shortage is announced at the end of a semester and afresh semester started few days ago. The administration and the director tried to impede the agitation by asking the students to step down from the demands but the student seemed very firm with their agitation and refused from any sort of compromise with their demand. While speaking on the occassion a student alleged that Professor Kulwant Singh is already handling three Chief Posts that is dean of law faculty, HoD law department and director the law school and due to which he is suffering from burden of work and which results in frustration and misbehave with students and gross inefficiency in entire law faculty. The students also alleged that they are getting threats and various sources are pressurising them to end their protest . JULSA is demanding for an immediate action against director and they have warned the authorities that they will not let the law school function until and unless a new director will be appointed as soon as possible. The JULSA is getting the support from all the student organizations of the Jammu university. |
