DC Kashmir mislead Defence Minister? | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 6: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir didn't send the communication of Deputy Commissioner Leh, regarding incursion in Nyoma teshil by Chinese Army, to the Home Ministry and External Affairs Ministry for proper action. It was because of this inordinate delay that Defence Minister making a statement in the Parliament had said: No report of Chinese incursion has been received from the Government of Jammu and Kashmir...." Defence Minister made this statement even after Deputy Commissioner Leh in communication to the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Asgar Samoon on Aug 22 has categorically mentioned that there is deep resentment among local of Phukchey border area bordering China after intimidation by Chinese Army in stopping construction work of irrigation canal. The Deputy Commissioner had clearly mentioned that the work is being carried on in the Indian territory thus simply and categorically implying that this intimidation by the Chinese Army is purely Chinese incursion and needs to be taken up at highest level to stop. The Divisional Commissioner apparently didn't deem it fit to judge the urgency of the situation and didn't take up the requisite step thus inadvertently- may be deliberately- force the Defence Minister a factually incorrect statement. Not only Deputy Commissioner but even Chief Executive Officer of LAHDC has clearly told the media after the incident that it amounts to serious attack on the sovereignity of the India and needs to be addressed in a serious manner. The casual approach by the Divisional Commissioner on this issue of national importance underscores grudge of Ladakh against Kashmiri administration. It is for this reason that people of Ladakh wants atleast separate Divisional Commissioner office to make it free from administrative clutches of Kashmir. The Divisional Commissioner if he had been studying the pattern of Chinese incursions in Leh for quite some time and analysed in proper manner shouldn't have shown so much callousness which also smacks of prejudice against Ladakhi people-who always stand by India. The Home Ministry should look into the communication and a proper statement based on facts should be made and erring official should be taken to task-if that's case. |
