LAHDC Kargil, CEC visits flood affected areas

KARGIL, AUGUST 01 – Chief Executive Councilors Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil Haji Asgar Ali Karbalaei accompanied by Executive Councilor Works Naseer Hussain Munshi, Executive Councilor Rural Development Haji Mohammad Ishaq and a team of district officers visited the affected villages and took stock of the damage and loss of properties caused due to recent floods in the area.
Haji Karbalaei stressed the need for early restoration of communication system, irrigation and water supply in the affected areas. He issued on the spot instructions to concerned authorities to take early and appropriate action for restoration of water supply schemes and irrigation schemes on war footing. He further instructed to the revenue officials to submit a detailed report of loss caused to crops, plants and other properties in these villages so that necessary steps be taken for relief and rehabilitation measures.
Haji karbalaei also met with the people of these flood-affected villages and assured them for all possible help and assistance. He further said that adequate funds will be allotted for the reconstruction of damaged irrigation, communication and water supply schemes. Kargil-Panikhar road, which was also blocked at several places and was reopened for vehicular traffic yesterday as a result all the stranded passengers at Sangrah and Sankoo proceeded towards their destination. The CEC also instructed the Public works and Mechanical Departments to deploy dozers at various places to ensure Kargil-Panikhar road functional without any interruption keeping in view the prevailing flood situation in the area during these days.
