“Save My Tawi” Volunteers slams Govt for new RTI Rules | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 7 : “Save My Tawi” campaign , an initiative group of dedicated volunteers and professional youth hailing from different walks of society today held a meeting here. In the meeting all the members of the group expressed deep shock and regret the State Government’s decision to amend the RTI Rules. As the new rules take all the powers of the State Information Commission which is the apex body to deal with all RTI related queries, problems of the information seekers and the citizens. Therefore campaigners passed a resolution demanding roll back of the Government’s order dated 30th Aug, 2012 where the government replaced the earlier rules better known as Jammu and Kashmir RTI Rules 2010 and implemented RTI Rules 2012 which are more or less nothing but merely an eyewa The group members also sought intervention of the political parties and appealed all of them to raise their voice against the amendment and pressurize the government in the coming assembly sessions to revert back the decision. They also discussed the further course of action to activate the members of the society to come forward for the protection of the holy river Tawi. Those who attended the meet included its founder member Parveen Sharma (Educationist), Deepak Sharma, Munish Sharma, Raman Sharma, Harasis Singh, Dewaker Sharma and others. |
