| 3- day workshop on ‘nutrition’ started at GMC Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 7: A three days programme to mark National Nutrition Week started here in Govt Medical College, Jammu, in the Deptt of Medicine, Dietetics and Therapeutic unit in collaboration with Indian Dietetic Association, J&K Chapter.
During the programme the seminar and presentation of scientific papers on the subjects like importance of Omega 3 Fatty Acids in heart diseases and for general health; Role of fibre in the management of diabetes; Role of nutritional mgt in cancer; Role of nutrition in cancer were presented.
Prof J P Singh Head Deptt of Medicine inaugurated this three days programme and chaired the seminar session. Dr. Sandeep oncologist spoke on cancer and nutritional management while Dr Vasanta Kohli consultant dietetics and therapeutics and president Indian Dietetic Association spoke on the malnutrition problems in women and children. The three days programme was attended by faculty , doctors of various discipline and all dietetic interns and IDA members. Social worker and educationist Mrs.Ruchi Chouhan Khan and Dr S K Kohli also visited the workshop. |
