Punish killers of Hindus in J&K also: PK | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 7: Expressing its total faith in the judicial system of the country which is more deep rooted after seeing the Naroda Patia case verdict on Aug.29, by a designated special court in Ahmedabad in the Gujarat communal violence of 2002 following burning alive of 60 innocent Hindu pilgrims at Godhra Panun Kahsmir demanded such type of action in case of massacres of innocent people in J&K during 23 year long turmoil. Dr. Agnishekhar, Convenor of Panun Kashmir while talking to media persons today said that the same yard stick of dispensation of justice needs to be applied in the massacres of innocent Kashmiri Pandits, men, women and infant children in Kashmir Valley and various parts of Jammu region at the hands of fundamentalist Jihadi people right from 1989 -90 till date. Dr. Agnishekhar said that Kashmiri Pandits are the victims of the worst program hatched by Jihadies, radical fundamentalist and also partisan state leadership in tandem, in which case, not only has the entire community been hounded out but systematic well planned killings also executed, without even any one handed out any stringent punishment. He demanded that Gujarat type yardsticks of dispensation of justice needs to be applied in the massacres of innocent men, women and infant children belonging to Hindu community by the fundamentalist Jehadi people right from 1989 in this trouble-torn state also. Dr Agnishekhar who was flanked by Prof M K Raina chairman Political Affairs PK, Shiban Kashmiri, chairman Media Committee and Sanjay Dhatattreya, National coordinator PK, said the Pandits are victims of worst conspiracy hatched by Jehadis, radical fundamentalist and also partisan state leadership with the result Hindu community has been hounded out from the Valley by executing systematic and well planned killings. Dr Agnishekhar said the human rights activists should take cognizance of the massacres of innocent people at Gool, Reasi, Sangrampura, in Budgam, Wandhhama in Ganderbal, Chapnari and Kuhand in Doda, Nadimarg in Shopian, Chatisingpora in Anatnag and other places of the state where hundreds of innocent Hindus were done to death by terrorists and petition before the Supreme Court on the basis of Naroda Patia Gujarat and seek justice for them too. He said in Nadimarg Shopian massacre which took place on the auspicious festival of Shab-e-Qadar 24 innocent Hindus were done to death by Jehadis and they included 11 women and two children. He said 18 bullets were pierced into the body of a nine year child in Wandhama in Ganderbal district where 23 Pandits were killed. Terming the present situation grave in Kashmir he said the militants are using Nepal as conduit to infiltrate into India and this is an alarming situation. He also criticized hardliner Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani for opposing the widening of track to holy cave of Swami Amarnath by raising the bogy of threat to environment. Dr Agnishekhar also warned those KP leaders who are hobnobbing with separatist Hurriyat Conference and asked them to desist from making any compromise with merchants of death as this will be strongly resisted by the community. He also expressed grave concern against the Government's apathy towards the displaced people who have been forced to resort to hunger strike at Jagti and in front of relief organization. While demanding immediate enhancement of cash relief, Dr Agnishekhar said it is strange that the community is on roads and the Government is totally unmoved. Prof Koul, while terming Jagti a concentrated camp said people have been deprived of basic amenities like water and electricity there. Shiban Kashmiri while extending full support to Jagti inmates agitation said it is a pity that State Government has no funds to pay power bill while thousands of crores are swindled in scams. It is unfortunate that in last 23 years of exile the problems of the displaced Pandits have not been settled. Sanjay Raina a senior PK leader, Vijay Saproo and Sudhesha Koul of Kashmira Vahini were also present in the press conference. |
