| Court directs SSP Jammu to register FIR | | Vehicle seized by police vanishes | | Jammu, Sept 8 (JNF) : In a unique case a vehicle seized by the police vanished. Taking cognizance of the incident, the City Judge Jammu Abdul Nasir today directed SSP Jammu u/s 156 (3) CrPC to investigate the matter personally or through some officer as the commission of cognizable offence has been noticed. Looking into the seriousness of the matter, Court further directed SSP Jammu to submit his report of investigation periodically for the information of the Court.This order was passed in an application moved by one Ravinder Singh s/o Shanti Saroop seeking release of his Vehicle. While passing this significant order, City Judge Jammu Abdul Nasir further said that report submitted by Incharge Police Post Canal Road Jammu shows the non-compliance of the order passed by Court of CJM Jammu dated July 13, 2012 whereby said Court had directed the SHO P/S Nowabad to release the Vehicle.
Since the SHO has not complied the orders passed by the Court, therefore, a notice is issued to the SHO P/S Nowabad to appear personally before this Court on next date to show cause as to why action under law should not be taken against him for non-compliance of the Court orders. According to the facts of the case Vehicle No JK02U-8040 was seized under section 550 CrPC and the vehicle was kept at Bhagwati Nagar Jammu and subsequently the same was kept at Gulshan Ground. Subsequently it was reported the Vehicle has not been traced at Gulshan Ground Jammu and no such entry has been found with the MTO DPL Jammu with regard to the Vehicle and the clerk of the MTO is unware less about the Vehicle. After hearing both the sides, City Judge Jammu Abdul Nasir took serious note of the lapse and issued directions to SSP Jammu to investigate the whole matter. JNF |
