| AJKCWA appeals CM to resolve grave yard issue | | |
JAMMU, FEB 8 All J &K Christan Welfare Association (AJKCWA) has sought intervention of chief minister alleging that the administration has failed to remove the encroachment from their graveyards at Jogi Gate near Christan Colony. While addressing a press conference here today state president of the association SM Gill said that the said grave yard was encroached in the year 2002 by some persons and in this regard they had registered a complaint with the concerned SHO but no action was taken to stop the illegal construction. "Complaint was also submitted with the Deputy Commissioner of Jammu but the issue was kept pending" he said and added that they had also submitted a memorandum with the CM, in which burning issue was also discussed but no step was taken in this regard, he said. It is to mention here that on February 5, a clash took place between two communities in which police had to wielder lathies. Gill alleged that Deputy Commissioner had made a commitment to them for visiting the spot when he did not come they started vacating the land consequent upon it the clash occurred. Association has requested the chief minister to look into the matter. Meanwhile the association also appealed to the Home Ministry of India as well as United Nation Organisation for building pressure on the Pakistan Government for releasing the christen lady which was apprehended some days back. |
