| JSM opposes privatization of electricity distribution, rent colllection | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 9: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) has criticized the move of privatization of electricity distribution and its rent collection from the consumers in Jammu only and that the Kshmir people may be exempted from this exercise of the Government for the time being. In a press statement issued here today, the JSM president Prof Virender Gupta said that it is well known that more than 70% of the revenue against electricity consumption comes from Jammu region where as Kashmir Valley consumes far more electricity as compared to Jammu province. Further, the residents of Jammu province are cooperating with the PDD department and filling up the prescribed forms about the actual electricity load. The people in Kashmir Valley, on the other hand are reluctant and resisting this move of the PDD.
Jammu State Morcha strongly condemned the working of ERA, PWD and Jammu Municipal Corporation authorities for the poor condition of the roads and the streets in Jammu city. |
