FCCI announces ‘Friends Cricket Cup’ from Oct | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 9: Friends Cricket Club India (FCCI) has decided to organize a mega cricket tournament tilted as Friends Cricket Cup-2012 first time in Jammu (J&K) in collaboration with Indian Council for Enviro-Legal Action (ICELA). This decision was taken during a meeting of the members of the FCCI held under the chairmanship of its Vice-President Susheel Jamwal. Addressing the committee, Jamwal explained the importance of physical sports. He said that FCCI is a voluntary cricket body constituted to provide platform to the youngsters from small villages and towns to explore and enhance their talent. Tournament shall strive to bring together the youth from different religions, regions and cultures to a common platform in order to ensure unity and national integrity. Speaking on the occasion, the organizing Secretary FCCI, Rajiv Jandial said that the tournament is aimed at promoting mutual harmony, trust and friendship in the society in general. This tournament is based upon knockout procedure strictly followed by the Twenty-20 format and 50 teams will compete for the Mega Title. The tournament will tentatively begin from first week of October, 2012. The winning team will get an amount of RS. l,00,000 and the runners-up team will get an amount of Rs.51 ,000. The Man of the tournament will get a motorcycle and Man of the match for finals will get an amount of Rs. 11,000. Other cash prizes include; Best batsman of the tournament, best bowler of the tournament, best fielder of the tournament, Maximum sixes award for the tournament, most stylish player of the tournament, highest run partnership of the tournament and best bowling figures of the tournament. |
