| DC distributes certificates among civil defence volunteers | | | JAMMU, AUGUST 01 -Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Mr Hirdesh Kumar Singh who is also the Controller Civil Defence Jammu distributed certificates/cash awards among 32 Wardens and Volunteers of Civil Defence Jammu at a function held here today. These certificates/cash rewards were given to those Wardens and Volunteers who have been imparted 10 day training in rescue operations. The function was organized by Divisional Warden Mr Jia Lal Sharma with the cooperation of post wardens of division-I who was given certificate/cash reward for his outstanding performance in serving the people especially those belonging to his division by the Deputy Commissioner. During the function, speakers highlighted various multi-pronged strategies to yield tangible results in the functioning of Civil Defence Jammu. They also emphasized the need for holding regular meetings of different divisions of Civil Defence Jammu to further streamline the functioning of the same. Saying that Civil Defence is doing yeomen service to the humanity, the wardens briefed the DC about their problems and demanded motorboats and other necessary tools to combat the rescue operations effectively. Speaking on the occasion, the DC appreciated the role of Civil Defence Jammu in serving the cause of humanity and assured complete cooperation to these functionaries to supplement their endeavors. Among others the function was attended by Deputy Controller Civil Defence Jammu Smt Manjit Kour, Chief Warden Civil Defence Jammu Mr Jugal Mahajan, Deputy Chief Wardens Mr Vinod Malhotra, Mr Paramjit Kumar, Divisional Wardens Mr Bansi Lal Gupta, Mr Dinesh Gupta and other Volunteers of Civil Defence Jammu. |
