‘Radio Taxis’ will snatch bread and butter of concerned families: JKTTWA | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 10 : Expressing concerns over the Initiative of Radio Taxis in state, the All J&K Tourist Taxi Transporters Welfare Association (JKTTTWA) today asked the government to reconsider the decision as it will snatch the bread and butter from many families. In a joint press conference address members said that a delegation of vice chairman of organization Davinder Choudhary flanked with other members of the Association Inderjeet Sharma, S Gurdeep Singh of Jammu Division Ghulam Nabi Pandoo, Haji Abdul Rashid of Kashmir Division called on Chief Minister on Sept 5 in his office chamber and demanded for Blanket ban for operation of Radio Taxies and for issuance of Licenses to any person/s as the same will snatch the livelihood of All J&K Tourist Taxi Operators Welfare Association, and besides this the Radio Taxies is' not a part and parcel of our Taxi Operators Association.Members said that the Association drew attention of the Chief Minister to this fact that due to introducing of the said SRO the livelihood of more than 21000 taxies operated/plied by unemployed educated youths presently engaged with this trade will become totally idle if the said SRO will be implemented by the Government in State of J&K. The Taxi union members said if the Radio Taxis’ SRO will be implemented In J&K State then the scheme of Radio Taxi will effect to the limited Taxi Business which is hardly 120 days (04 months) in year which will affect the dependents of the people associated with the said trade. The members in the press conference said that we wish to mention here if the State Government has to take any such decision, our Associations may very kindly be taken into confidence before issuing such an Notification/ SRO as the said SRO directly hits the livelihood of Taxi Industry and no controversy or problems will arise in this regard. |
