EDB organizes KCC Mela, Awareness Camp | | | Early Times Report Katra , Sept 10: Ellaquai Dehati Bank organised Kissan Credit Card (KCC) Mela and Awareness Programme at pachayat Ghar here today. This was in continuation of the Bank's programme of organising such camps for the benefit of the farmers in general and people living below poverty line in particular. The Mela was attended by Regional Manager Ellaquai Dehati Bank, DDM NABARD, SDO Reasi Katra, and officials from Revenue agency besides large number of farmers. In his address the DDM NABARD detailed the Schemes and also highlighted the role of NABARD in Rural Development. The SDO Agriculture requested the farmers to come forward in a big way and avail the benefits of the KCC Scheme. In his address B L Bhat Regional Manager stated that the Bank is continuing with its policy of providing hassle free loans at the door steps of the farmer's community. He requested the farmers to come in a big way and avail financial assistance/other banking facilities from the Bank branches. Bhat also disclosed that in compliance to Govt. of India ambitious programme of Financial Inclusion the bank has opened a Brick and Morter unit at Kundrorian for serving the local population. In the function, sanction letters were distributed to the farmers whose cases were sponsored by the Agriculture department. Some loans under SME Sector were also distributed. Farmers in particular and people in general hailed the efforts of A K Bhat Branch Manager Katra in organizing such an awareness programe. A. K. Bhat thanked the officials and the farmers who attended the Mela and emphasized the need for timely recovery of loans by the beneficiaries. He also stated that the bank is providing KCC Loans at 7% rate with the assistance of NABARD. |
