One killed, two injured in Hajan

Unidentified militants have killed one person in Hajan and injured his wife and PSO.
Unidentified militants fired upon one Mohammed Yousuf Dar@ Mushtaq Ikhwani s/o Assadulah Dar, when he came out of his house at Tund Mohalla Hajan, killing him on the spot. Yousuf’s wife Dilshada and his PSO were also injured in the incident who have been referred to Srinagar for treatment.
Yousuf was actually a resident of Gurora Bandipora but had been living outside Army camp in Tund Mohalla Hajan for some. Police has registered a case in this regard and taken up investigations.

Man eater leopard killed in Handwara
Srinagar, February 08: Acting on the proper orders of Chief Wild Life Warden Jammu and Kashmir, Handwara Police has killed a man-eater leopard in Sanjimulla Handwara.
According to SP Handwara Dr Haseeb Mughal, the people of Rajwar, Qaziabad, Ahgam, Rajpora, Mawar, Zachaldara, Sanjimulla and adjoining villages were living under the fear of a man-eater leopard.
The leopard had attacked around 12 people and killed a girl, besides killing cattle in some villages of Handwara. Only yesterday, the leopard had killed three sheep in the area, he added.
He stated that in this regard a Govt order No: CSCR/Camp/SGR-RWLW/K/WLW (N)-04-05 dated 11/11/2006 and Chief Life Warden J&K, order No: 190/2006-2007 dated 13/11/2006 were issued to kill the animal.
SP said that acting on these orders, Handwara police traced the animal today in village Sanjimulla Handwara and killed him.
The killing of this man-eater leopard has come as a huge relief to the people of the area who have appreciated this action of people in safeguarding their life.
Dead body recovered in Kreeri, Labourer dies in Nubra
Srinagar, February 08: While as Police has recovered brutally beaten dead body of a civilian from orchards in Kreeri Baramulla, a Nepali labourer has died in Nubra under suspicious conditions.
Baramulla Police recovered dead body of one Abdul Rashid Beigh, 28, s/o Abdul Gaffar R/O Wanigam Baramulla from the orchards of village Telegam Waripora Kreeri. The deceased has been murdered by some unidentified persons by brutally beating him to death. Police has registered a case in this regard and the hunt for the murderers is on.
A labourer identified as Lal Singh of Nepal died under suspicious circumstances at Village Digger in Nubra. Proceedings U/S 174 CrPC have been initiated by the police in this regard.
Miscreants set government offices on fire
Some miscreants set ablaze the government offices of PWD, PHE, and Irrigation of Igophey Divisions at Leh. The fire caused minor damage to the ground floor of the building. Some official records were also burnt in the incident. However, the fire was brought under control. Police has registered a case in this regard and the hunt for the miscreants is on.
