Srinagar | Feb 8 Acting on the orders of Chief Wild Life Warden, J&K, Handwara Police has killed a man-eater leopard in Sanjimulla Handwara. The leopard had attacked around 12 people and killed a girl, besides killing cattle in some villages of Handwara. According to reports, the people of Rajwar, Qaziabad, Ahgam, Rajpora, Mawar, Zachaldara, Sanjimulla and adjoining villages were living under the fear of a man-eater leopard. The leopard had attacked around 12 people and killed a girl, besides killing cattle in some villages of Handwara. Only yesterday, the leopard had killed three sheep in the area. On the complaints of the these villagers, Chief Life Warden J&K, through an official order directed Handwara Police to kill the man eater. Acting on the order, police traced the leopard today in village Sanjimulla Handwara and killed him. The killing of this man-eater leopard has come as a huge relief to the people of the area who have appreciated this action of people in safeguarding their life.
