| Handwara Police recovers 7500 liters of Kerosene | | | Srinagar | Feb 8 A racket involved in the black marketing of Kerosene oil, obtained from Army and other agencies which were to be black marketed in Handwara and adjoining districts, was busted with the arrest of four persons and recovery of 7500 liters of Kerosene from their possession. According to reports, Police received information regarding the illegal storage and black marketeering of Kerosene oil in the area. Acting on this information, a Police Party led by SHO Handwara, Syed Fayaz Ahmed intercepted a truck bearing Regn no JK03-6417 at Kulangam, Handwara from which 35 barrels of illegal Kerosene oil amounting to 7500 liters were seized. The arrested persons have been identified as Farooq Ahmed Ganai, son of Sonaullah Ganai, Reyaz Ahmed Ganai, son of Mohammed Afzal, Mohammed Shafi Magray, son of Ghulam Ahmed Magray all residents of Chak Keegam, Kupwara and Noor Mohammed Lone, son of Abdul Ahad Lone of Shadipora Kupwara. A case under section 3/7 Essential Commodities Act has been registered against them in Police Station Handwara and correspondence regarding this case has been made with Food & Supplies department as the Kerosene Oil was being brought from Army and other
