| Cheat held for duping unemployed, several documents seized | | | Jammu | Feb 8
City police today arrested a cheat who looted several people on the fake assurance of providing government jobs this afternoon during raid. Several fake appointment letters were also recovered from his possession.
According to reports, City Police booked a complaint by a lady that a person has cheated her of thousands on the fake assurance of providing government job. Acting on complaint, a police party led by SHO City, Kuljeet Singh on the direction of Dy SP Ashok Sharma conducted a raid and arrested the said cheat from Sunjuwan area this afternoon and recovered several fake appointment letters including the appointment letter of Dy Medical Superintendent from his possession. He has been identified as Mukhtiar Ahmed of Poonch and presently residing at Sunjuwan. Sources disclosed that large number of people have been cheated by him on the pretext of providing government job during the past some time.
Meanwhile, a case against him has been registered in City Police Station and his interrogation was on when reports last came in.
