JAMMU, February 9 Minister of State for Health and Power, Peer Mohammad Hussain has lauded the role of Chief Minister, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad for moving the historic Roshni Bill in the J&K Legislative Assembly, which was unanimously passed today, aimed at giving free of cost ownership rights to 16.60 lakh kanals of state land under the occupation of farmers in Jammu and Kashmir. Describing passing of the Bill a revolutionary step, Mr. Hussain said the bill is highly farmer friendly and would help in a big way to boost the farming sector. He said in the last 60 years, such a bold step could not be taken and today under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Azad this decision deserves appreciation at all levels. Referring to the benefits of the Roshni Bill to the farmers of Shangus constituency of Anantnag district, Mr. Hussain said that most of the villagers of Utrasoo, Kawarigam, Rainipora, Rakhibrah, Brah, Danambal, Khulchopar, Trad, Brari Aangan, Sheikhpora, Charipora and many other villages are in occupation of vast agricultural state land and by making them owners of this land, the farming community would get boost socially as well as economically to cater to the requirements of the state.
