| Top HM militant nabbed, material for 23 IEDs recovered | | | Srinagar | Feb 9
Police has achieved major achievement by seizing material for about 23 IEDs which could have been triggered by mobile phones by arresting three Doda based persons, one of them being a district commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) outfit, at Pampore this morning.
According to reports, the top HM militant namely Tariq Hussain Begawan of Doda was arrested by Awantipora Police along with two associates who have been identified as Muzaffar Hussain Ahanger and Mohd Ashraf Parray both residents of Doda. It has been ascertained that Tariq is Hizb militant while the involvement of other two is being ascertained. A vehicle bearing number JK02U-8155 was also seized. Meanwhile, three wireless sets, 1000 rounds of AK, mobile IED receiver (normal), five cassettes-IED receivers (normal), receiver bulb type (normal) 17 in number and a mobile with four different sim cards were also recovered from their possession. According to sources, recovered material was enough to make 23 IEDs which could have been triggered by mobile.
