| BJP protests price hike | | Women-wing stages dharna; East unit burns effigy | | JAMMU | FEB 9 Bhartiya Janta Party’s Mahila Morcha (BJPMM) activists today held a dharna at Indira Chowk, under the leadership of its state sectary Usha Choudhary, against steep rise in prices of essential commodities and non-availability of ration at Govt. depots. Addressing the protestors Usha Criticized the CAPD for its total failure to ensure regular supply of ration, reduction in the quality of retiaiquota for distribution and levy of are rupees per kg on the ration supplied to kammuties She asked the govt. to order an inquiry to check the authenticity of those holding BPL ration cards and cancel all those found to be fake. Daya Krishan Kotwal, Shamsher Singh Manhas, Chander Kanta, Sakina Bano, Anjali Khanna, Kiran Salathia, were among those who sat at dharna along with other Morcha activists. Meanwhile, BJP east Mandal activists today held protest demonstration and burnt the effigy of the state government on the issue of the rise of Price rise and inadequate ration supply in the area. Office secretary Shiv Kumar Gupta, while addressing the protestors come down heavily on the central government for not taking any measures to control the prices of essential commodities as a result of which a common Indian is feeling helpless.
