| Class IV Excise employees allege bungling in selection list | | | JAMMU | FEB 10 ‘Alleging bungling in the selection list of class IV, released by the Excise and Commercial Tax Department here today, the Class IV Employees Union spearheading the agitation in support of their demand for permanent absorption, today hinted to move to the Court to challenge the selection list. The employees, in the meantime continued their token protest demonstration for the 10th consecutive day here today in support of their demand and took out a protest rally which culminated at Guru Ravi Dass Sabha near Jewel. The Association President Adil Rashid and several other leaders addressing the protestors strongly criticized the government for its inhuman act and step motherly treatment meted out to the aggrieved employees. The speakers alleged that those selected for these posts possess lesser qualification and while those having higher qualifications have been singled out on money consideration. They alleged that among the selected candidates some are kiths and kin of the senior functionaries including Riaz Jaan Additional Commissioner Taxes Srinagar while 11 of selected are relation of Masud Raja Deputy Commissioner Audit Jammu. The speakers said the aggrieved retrenched employees have sufficient proof of bungling and favourtism in the selection list and hinted to move to the High Court to seek quashsment of this selection list. The Association in a hand out said that the aggrieved employees in coordination with the Joint Action Committee Jammu would discuss and decide the future course of action shortly.
