Jora for providing power supply to essential services round the clock
Rs.5.74 cr. being spent under APDRP in Doda

Minister for Power Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora has said that power supply and its improvement required in respect of setting up of receiving stations, sub-stations and above all ensuring healthy transmission system in Doda district is among the priorities of the government.
The Minister was chairing a high level meeting of engineers and officers of Power Development Department today convened to review the power supply and its allied problems being faced by the people in the said district.
Chairman J&K State Social Welfare Advisory Board and Member Legislative Assembly, Inderwal Mr. G. M. Saroori, MLA Doda Mr. Abdul Majid Wani, MLA, Banihal Molvi Abdul Rashid, Development Commissioner Power Mr. Showkat Rashid Wani, Chief Engineer, M & RE, Jammu Mr. D. S. Pawar, Chief Engineer, Systems and Operations, Mr. R. K. Sali, Superintendent Engineer Batote Circle Mr. S. K. Raina and other senior officers and engineers attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that Rs.41.30 lakhs have been earmarked for improvement of power system in the Bhanihal constituency while as Rs.49.18 lakh are being utilized for the purpose in Ramban area under various schemes during the current financial year. Another Rs.1.11 crore would be incurred for improving the distribution system in Doda and Badwarh constituency.
The meeting was also informed that Rs 5.74 crore under APDRP sub-transmission line involving construction of receiving station, augmentation of receiving stations and erection of new 33 KV lines in the district.
The Minister directed the concerned engineers to provide adequate power supply to Thathri and Chattroo Hospitals. Upgradation of Batote receiving station from 15 MVA to 35 MVA by adding of 20 MVA addition to fulfill the long pending demand of the people of the area was approved in the meeting.
The Minister directed the concerned engineers and officers to make a survey report of all the villages of the Doda district and submit the estimates for strengthening of power distribution system in the district so that the villages unelectricfied and the improvement in existing power system would also be taken up as soon as possible. Mr. Jora asked them to work with utmost zeal and dedication.
