In order to review the progress of schemes and programmes relating to education sector during the current year 2006-07, the District Development Commissioner (DDC), Jammu Mr. Hirdesh Kumar Singh today convened a meeting with officers of education, medical, social welfare, consumer affairs and public distribution.
In the meeting, Mr. Singh discussed matters related to opening of centres under total literacy campaign phase-IInd, sarva shiksha abhyan, mid-day meals, construction of school building under various schemes viz SSA, State Plan, District Plan and BADP, implementation of swajaldhara and TSC in schools, health care services in schools under SSA and pre-matric/post matric scholarship to merit, handicapped, SC/ST/OBC students.
DDC directed for ensuing strict implementation of SSA scheme in letter and spirit for extending its benefits to the children community. He asked the concerned officers for making judicious use of funds being provided to them from time to time for implementation of various scheme.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Superintending Engineers, PWD (R&B), Hydraulic and other senior officers of education, social welfare, medical, CAPD were present. |
