| Milchar Front demands representation to Thathi in Upper House | | | JAMMU FEB 11 Strongly demanding representation to Thathri in the state legislature, Jammu and Kashmir Milchar Front at its meeting held under the chairmanship of Kuldeep Kumar General Secretary said the area is still cut off from the rest of the country due to non-availability of road connectivity despite 60 years of independence. He said that the benefits of independence and democracy are yet to reach this area, as it has all along been neglected in the past and added that this fact has aalso been vindicated by the Chief Minister himself when he declared it as the most backward and undeveloped area of the state during his visit in March last. The Front leader said that the area predominantly a Hindu belt has never been given any representation in the state legislature adding that to keep the banner of secularism aloft the need is to give due status to the community which has been relegated to the background all these years and in this connection suggested that one of the representative most preferably Ram Lal Rao, Om Prakash Thakur and Ram Rattan Manhas should be nominated as MLC. Om Raj Bhall, Kanwarjet Singh, Rajinder Siangh Bhall, Bir Singh, Bal Krishan Kotwal, Ravinder Kumar and Anil Charak attended the meeting among others.
