| Class IV Education employees threaten stir | | | JAMMU FEB 11 All Jammu and Kashmir Class IV Education Employees Welfare Association has threatened agitation, if the government does not concede its long pending demands, within a stipulated time frame. Announcing this here today at a press conference, Mohammed Yusuf Shah Association President alleged that while promotions of class IV employees in other departments are ordered from time to time but no such promotions to the employees, especially chowkidars and safai walas, working in the education department, have been ordered since 1980. He said most of these employees are stagnated in a particular grade where their counterparts in other departments have been awarded two to three promotions. The Association President demanded issuance of combined seniority list of all cadres, promotion of qualified class IV employees as Laboratory and Library Assistants and grant of Rs.1,000 as interim relief pending implementation of 6th Pay commission recommendations . Maulana Shabir Ahmed Qadiri, General Secretary, Mohammed Asgar Shah Organizer and Abdul Shakoor Joint Secretary were also present at the press conference.
