| Dr Romesh hails CM for `land mark decision’ | | | Jammu, February 11 Minister of state for Public Health Engineering and Industries, Dr Romesh Chander Sharma has hailed Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for announcing free ownership rights to the farmers on the state land under their possession. The minister described the event as a historical decision during the last several decades. He said it is under the leadership of Ghulam Nabi Azad that such a historical decision was taken by the collation government providing a great relief to the peasants who were neglected by the successive governments of the state. He said getting ownership rights on the land they were cultivating for last several decades would empower the farming community and facilitate their socio-economic development. He called it a Historic Moment for the people of J&K State which would bring about the vesting of ownership rights of Agricultural Land free of cost to the common masses and poor farmers of the state. The minister said that for the first time in the history of the state, government is giving 16.60 Lakh Kanals Land worth 20 thousand Crore to farmers free of cost. Lauding the role of coalition government, the minister term it as "Golden Rule" in the History of the state during which various historical steps like opening of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad and Poonch-Rawalakote roads to facilitate the people across the borders to meet their relatives besides new degree colleges, crusade against corruption, creation of New Districts, Sub Districts, Tehsils, Setting of Tourism Development Authorities, Percent Literacy Drive, introduction of National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme and Now the Roshni Act been taken are appreciable.(NAK)
do not take Police busts hideout, recovers ammunition in Karnah Srinagar, Feb 11(NAK): Police today claimed to have recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from a hideout in jungles of Challan and Tethiwal areas of frontier district of Kupwara of north Kashmir. Official sources told News Agency of Kashmir that in a joint operation, jammu and kashmir police and troops of 83 Bn BSF busted a small hideout in Jungle area between Challan Tethiwal and Khakra Sumarl in the frontier district of Kupwara. One Chinese pistol, 01 pistol magazine with six rounds, 01 AK magazine with 26 rounds, 02 hand grenades, 01 UBGL grenade, 02 detonators and safety fuse measuring 3.6 feet was recovered from the hideout. Police has registered the case and taken up investigations.
