| Shiv Sena warns love birds against V-Day | | |
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 12
President of the state unit of Shiv Sena Anan Sharma on Monday said it would oppose Valentine's Day celebrations in Jammu and Kashmir and organize street protests. It also urged the state government to impose a ban on the Valentine day celebrations in the state as it encourages obscenity among youth.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, President of the state unit of the Shiv Sena Anan Sharma said that Shiv Sena is totally against such things .We appeal to the parents and family members to refrain their children and other members in the family not to take part in such western customs/culture which have no place in our centuries old civilization and culture.
He said the festivals like Valentine day are a social curse in our Hindu society.
Shiv Sena also issued a stern warning to youth and owners and management of the hotels in Jammu to refrain from organizing the programme/ parties with regard to celebrate Valentine day. “Anyone found indulging in any immoral act will not be spared”, Sharma said warning youngsters.
Sharma said they had constituted large number of teams to supervise the activity of the youth through out the day to make sure that girls and boys don't meet on Wednesday. We will patrol whole city area to monitor the activity of youngsters,he added.
