Publicity hungry J&K Govt nowhere , residents in distress seek Army help

Jammu, January 9 While the publicity-hungry J&K administration is miserably failed to cope up with extreme weather, it’s the Army and other central forces which are providing some relief to the people at this crucial time. Instead of approaching the J&K administration for help during inclement weather, people are also calling the Army to save them during heavy snowfall and incessant rains in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir. During the four days, many incidents have been reported when people in distress have approached the local formations of the Army to help them. On Sunday, the Border Security Force (BSF) airlifted four patients, including a BSF jawan, from the snow-bound Tangdhar sector in Kashmir Valley. Reports said that on the request of district administration Kupwara, BSF evacuated three patients for medical attention from the Tangdhar sector as the only road connecting the area with district headquarters remains closed. Corona Tsunami: Daily caseload jumps from 22 to 292 in ten days in Jammu district

Jammu, January 9 Jammu-the winter capital of the Union Territory (UT) is facing Corona Tsunami because the daily caseload in the district has jumped from 22 to 292 in just 10 days. On December 29, 2021, only 22 fresh Corona cases were reported in the Jammu district. On January 9 this number has jumped to 292. During the last 24 hours, 687 positive cases were reported in all the ten districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Out of these cases, Jammu district alone recorded 292 cases which is a warning signal. SRINAGAR, JANUARY 09: The Government today informed that 687 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 437 from Jammu division and 250 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 344652.Also, 03 Covid deaths have been reported from Jammu Division. New Delhi: Amid widespread protests by junior doctors for NEET-PG counselling, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Sunday announced that the medical counselling committee (MCC) will start the counselling of the students from January 12. The announcement will bring relief to several doctors waiting for admissions to post graduate courses. Srinagar, Jan 9: Flight operations at Srinagar Airport has resumed after remaining affected for past several days due to snowfall and poor visibility, officials said on Sunday. “Since January 4, we have had 134 flight cancellations. The passengers of all those flights are being accommodated now. The new bookings will open after clearing the backlog”, a Srinagar Airport tweet said.
